The Euro Exhibition gives visitors the opportunity to learn about the euro banknotes and coins, as well as their security features, in an appealing and interactive way. The background design of the exhibition panels features the bridges depicted on the euro banknotes.

The exhibition has a modular structure, enabling it to be easily and quickly adapted for a wide range of venues. It has six modules in total and requires up to 100 square metres of floor space. If you are interested, please contact us by writing to info@ecb.int.
Welcome module
Banknotes module
This module consists of two displays. The first display not only explains the history, the main features and the design of the euro banknotes, but also tells you more about what the European Central Bank and the euro area national central banks are doing to always remain at least one step ahead of counterfeiters. The second display describes how the euro banknotes are made, how the production process is organised and what happens to banknotes that are no longer fit for circulation.

This display takes visitors on a journey through the exciting history of money, which spans thousands of years. It explains exactly what money is and provides an overview of many different forms that it has taken over the years, including barter, commodity money, coins, paper money and most recently, electronic money.

Kids’ corner
Guaranteed fun for everyone! Here children and adults alike can play exciting games or view presentations on the many touch screens that are located in this area. There is also a chance to meet the life-size figures of Anna and Alex, who are the heroes of the children’s story “Anna and Alex take on the banknote forgers”.
