Since its establishment, the ECB has organised a series of exhibitions entitled “Contemporary art from the EU Member States”. Each exhibition is dedicated to a particular European Union country and is organised in cooperation with the national central bank of the exhibiting country.
The exhibitions aim to show the cultural diversity and richness of Europe and give staff members and visitors to the ECB the opportunity to become familiar with art from different countries.

Each year the EUROPEAN CULTURAL DAYS of the ECB focus on a different Member State of the European Union. In the autumn months Frankfurt am Main becomes the setting for many high-quality artistic performances, ranging from theatre and dance to music, and hosts exhibitions, documentaries, readings and lectures, as well as events for children.
