As a rule, the President of the ECB appears five times per year before the European Parliament (EP). Once a year, he presents the ECB's Annual Report to the plenary. The other four times he appears before the Parliament's ‘Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs' (ECON) to explain the ECB's policy decisions and to answer questions by Committee members. Additional hearings of the President (or other members of the Executive Board) may be organised at the request of the European Parliament, or on the initiative of the ECB. The meetings are open to the public.
A webcast of the events (live and on-demand), the transcript of the hearing (once it has been produced) and other related documents are available on the Parliament's website: www.europarl.europa.eu
